At Lumen Counseling of Texas, we are committed to providing compassionate, ethical, and professional mental health care in a safe and supportive environment. The following policies are intended to help you understand how our practice operates and what you can expect when beginning services.
Appointments
Our intake sessions may be held in-person, while ongoing care typically continues through secure telehealth. You can book with us online, by phone, or email to begin your healing journey.
Cancellation Policy
Your appointment time is reserved specifically for you. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 24 hours' notice. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours' notice or missed without notice may be subject to a cancellation fee or may not be covered by your insurance provider. Repeated late cancellations or missed appointments may impact your ability to continue scheduling future services.
Fees and Payment
Full payment is due at the time of each session. We welcome all major credit or debit cards, along with HSA and FSA cards. Please be aware that we are not accepting insurance plans currently.
Confidentiality
Details discussed in therapy sessions are private, secured by professional ethics and legal standards. Exceptions to privacy include: Known threats of harm to yourself or others Potential abuse of minors, seniors, or disabled persons Legal subpoenas or valid court orders Other lawful disclosure mandates Further details regarding privacy rights and your clinical file are reviewed during the initial intake and consent phase.
Telehealth
Virtual therapy is provided purely for individuals physically residing in the state of Texas during their session time. It is the client's duty to establish a stable internet connection and find a private space.
Confidentiality & Data Management
We highly value the protection of your personal details. At Lumen Counseling of Texas, we keep rigorous privacy standards for every client file. Records are shared only with specific authorized staff or according to legal mandates. We use encrypted platforms to keep your data safe and ensure your path to wellness stays guarded.
